A Moment of Empathy.
The Lost One has recently found he can now empathize with those people who leave an event early. Y'know the people who shlep out to a park on the 4th of July with the overcrowding and the screaming children and the port-a-potties that seem to always have a line and then leave the *instant* the fireworks start reasoning, "We'll beat the traffic out!" In the past the Lost One has always been convinced they had missed the point but now, sitting around waiting for the last class of the day, with only one day till fall break, understanding begins to dawn. The Lost One is here, doing reading for classes where the Profs. have obviously checked out mentally (the Lost One expects to get to pages done in the next hour and a half class), doing projects that are not do till after the break, killing time till the actual half hour of class he does have to attend to take the "practice quiz" which is really just an excuse for the Prof. to end his class an hour early, *sigh*
Still, it's not like the Lost One's day has been so horrible...It's not like he totally crashed said practice exam...Well, not a lot...Well, not very deep. *Sigh* Yes, the end of the day is coming closer, but it's crawling on its hands and knees! Still, onwards and upwards to quote Lewis. The Lost One can take this time to tell you all about the fun things he's been up to...
Let's see...Beat KOTOR (for those not fluent in Geek, no the Lost One will not de code that for you), which was fun, and very time consuming. The Lost One is going to skirt around the issue of just how much time was consumed because there is Nerd, then Geek, then High Lord of the Dorks, his royal majesty, crown prince of the land of the forever celibate, heir to the thrown of Loserdom. Guess where the Lost One lands?
Saw the movie, Serenity which rocked. Sci-Fi at its best people! Started a strange obsession with the FX show, "Over There" which the Lost One is still trying to decide if it is defeatist or merely honest. The Lost One is swinging for toward the latter position. Very violent though, so viewer discretion and all. Strangely, though he hates the game, the Lost One is looking forward to the movie, Doom. Any Sci-Fi flick in a off year don't cha know.
